Sherpa Blanket Care & Washing Instructions

Before first use

• Shake or tumble on Air/No Heat for 10–15 min to de-lint and fluff the sherpa.
  

• If desired, pre-wash once: cold water, gentle cycle, light detergent.
  

Routine washing (everyday care)

1. Machine setting: Cold (≤30°C/86°F), gentle/delicate cycle, light load.
   

2. Detergent: Mild liquid detergent, color-safe. Avoid optical brighteners if you want to preserve the warm sepia tones.
   

3. Turn printed side inward (fold print to print) to reduce friction.
   

4. Wash with similar colors. Avoid zippers/Velcro; consider a large laundry bag.
   

5. Spin speed: Low–medium (≤800 rpm) to protect the sherpa pile.
   

Stains & spot treatment

• Act fast. Blot (don’t rub).
  

• Mix a small amount of mild detergent with cold water; dab the spot with a soft cloth or sponge.
  

• For oily spots: a drop of gentle dish soap → dab → rinse cold.
  

• For tough stains: use oxygen bleach (color-safe) only. No chlorine bleach.
  

Drying & fluffing

• Best: Tumble dry low or no heat with 2–3 clean dryer balls for 15–25 min, then let it finish air-drying flat or on a rack.
  

• All-machine option: Tumble Low until just dry; do not over-dry (high heat compacts fibers).
  

• If sherpa looks matted, toss back in on Air/No Heat for 10 min with dryer balls to re-fluff.

• Light pilling can be lifted with a fabric shaver or sweater stone—use gently on the printed side only.
  

Odor refresh

• Add ½ cup (120 ml) white vinegar to the rinse cycle (no detergent) to naturally deodorize and soften. Re-fluff in the dryer on Air/No Heat.
  

Storage

• Store clean and fully dry in a breathable cotton bag or on a shelf.
  

• Avoid long-term compression vacuum bags (they crush the sherpa loft).
  

Safety notes for printed blankets

• Sublimation prints are durable, but avoid direct contact with hot irons/steamers.
  

• If you must remove wrinkles, lightly steam from the back side at a distance and let air-dry.
